Aerosmith, the American rock band that was formed in Boston, MA in the 1970’s, has officially announced their retirement from touring after 54 years in the industry.
This news shocked fans but also didn’t especially as singer, Steven Tyler, has had conflicts with his vocal cords as well as larynx last year. These issues ultimately led the band to make their decision of retiring. They made a statement saying, ” As you know, Steven’s voice is an instrument like no other. He has spent months tirelessly working on getting his voice to where it was before the injury. We’ve seen him struggling despite having the best medical team by his side. Sadly, it is clear, that a full recovery from his vocal injury is not possible. We have made a heartbreaking and difficult, but necessary, decision – as a band of brothers – to retire from the touring stage”
Aerosmith has impacted so many lives and influenced the rock genre we know today. And as sad as it is to say, we will not see them Walk This Way any longer…
