The city will no longer pick up construction materials. For home improvement and building projects, residents need to rent a dumpster .
The Alzheimer’s Association estimates that almost 7-million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s dementia. That’s one reason why PADD will be hosting a FREE Dealing with Dementia workshop. It’s intended help you navigate the challenges of caring for someone with dementia by helping you understand it. The workshop will be tomorrow (Thursday, August 29th) from 1 until 5. In Madisonville, the Owensboro Health Foundation will be beefing up the Dr. Scott E. Gaines Memorial Scholarship Fund. Besides the golf event at the Madisonville Country Club on September 14th and 15th, they have decided to add a raffle. The prize is a Big Green Egg valued at 11-hundred dolllars. The random drawing will take place on September 16th.
Sometimes, cops pull over drivers that they know have a suspended license. The Madisonville police say it occurred last week during the midnight hour. Haley McKinley also had no valid insurance or registration. A search of her car produced a white rock substance thought to be meth. McKinley was then transported to the county jail.
The two persons hauling a trailer with their Jeep Cherokee are reporting no serious injuries. Monday evening, it flipped over at the intersection of Shamrock and College Heights. The two were advised that if anything began to hurt, they should visit the E-R. Oil dry was used on the road surface.
People are counting down the days before they can see the hot air balloons at Mahr Park. The Madisonville Events Director is Lucy Bess. Tickets are needed for rides, but otherwise, the event is free. It will be from 4 until 10 on Friday, the 30th.
Cigarette butts have caused many fires. On Sunday evening, the fire department reported to Lowe’s on Island Ford Road. A light amount of smoke was coming from some mulch. The ignition source was thought to be cigarette butts.
