In Madisonville, the Fiscal Court meets this morning at 10 at the Government Center. The meeting will include reports from the county attorney, the clerk, the sheriff, the jailer, and the county treasurer.
The man who was following a walking woman for such a long time that she ended up phoning the police is facing 5 charges. Andres Tapia-Santizo tried to hide from the police in a bush on Brown Street. His charges include harassment, trespassing, and fleeing from the police. Tapi-Santizo was arrested at about 2-30 Monday morning.
Move over Hollywood. Here comes Madisonville. Yes, one film is being produced and Mayor Kevin Cotton says more may be on the way. And the last we heard, they need talent, extras, and production positions.
Our junior senator is not glad to hear that the Food and Drug Administration has announced the availability of new Covid-19 vaccines. Rand Paul says the F-D-A is failing to disclose if the vaccines are safe and effective. He says some academic papers describe them as possessing clear benefits, others reports them as having unusual risks. Senator Paul believes the C-D-C needs to re-evaluate whether a Covid public health emergency exists and should consider declaring the pandemic over in the United States.

Hopkins County will have a Narcan giveaway on Thursday, the 26th. Free cans will be distributed from 9 until 3 at the Ballard Convention Center on Arch Street.
The traffic stop of a carelessly driven vehicle on Friday the 13th near Clay by the Webster County Sheriff’s Office is what produced two arrests. In plain view, the deputy spotted drug paraphernalia. A vehicle search produced multiple bags of methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. Jonathan Woods of Indiana faces 5 charges. His passenger was Betty Hall. She is facing 4 charges.
In Washington D-C, a major component of the farm bill are conservation agriculture programs. Sierra Club Kentucky says they help protect natural resources from the impacts of industrial farming. Sierra Club’s Kentucky Chapter says some House lawmakers want to modify the Conservation Title to incorporate precision agriculture technologies into water conservation and irrigation practices. Hank Graddy believes that would weaken the original goals of the programs that have benefited Kentucky farmers. More farmers are seeking to participate than there is funding available.
The Hopkins County Humane Society says it’s a good month to adopt. The adoption fees for all dogs and cats are half off. The fee covers everything needed to adopt. Their website is hopkins-county-humane-
