A dangerous maneuver by a driver on I-69 is what led to three arrests by the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office Tuesday morning at 1:30. A Lincoln M-K-Z left the road and re-entered in a dangerous manner. During the he traffic stop of James Scott at mile marker 109, the deputy reported the strong odor of marijuana. Arrested with 38-year-old Scott were 35-year-old Katherine Browning and 42-year-old Dane Branscum. The three are charged with possession of marijuana, trafficking controlled substances, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Scott was charged with reckless driving.
In Madisonville, the fire department is reporting how they handled a serious electrical problem at a South Church Street residence. A few days ago, the homeowner stated that his lights began to flicker and that there was smoke and the smell of burning wires in his basement. That led him to turn off the breaker to the electrical panel. The Madisonville Electric Department discovered that the main electrical line from the meter had melted and the wires were exposed. The homeowner was informed that he needed to contact an electrician.
Kentuckians enrolled in Medicaid and Medicare are eligible for additional benefits not usually associated with a typical health insurance plan. Justice Attorney Chloe Atwater says the additional option is for people who are older, have less income and may live with disabilities.
The deadline to enroll is December 7th.
Madisonville is preparing City Park for Deck the Park. It’s from Thanksgiving to New Year’s Day from 4 until 9. Over 120-thousand attended the free event last year.

You could say that Greenville is cleared for take off. Madisonville Community College has celebrated the ribbon-cutting for the new hangar at the Muhlenberg County Airport at 399 Airport Road. The Tourism Commission says the new facility will offer more opportunities for aviation students. Governor Andy Beshear believes the hangar will also bring new jobs to Western Kentucky. Audio from Channel 44. The hanger will enable the expansion of the fixed-wing program and has set things up for a helicopter program. M-C-C is also hoping to introduce an aviation mechanics program that will also utilize the new hangar.
A traffic stop in Madisonville of a vehicle that was in the middle of the road is what led to an arrest. Cameron Clark also had a partially obscured license plate when he was stopped on Hanson Street on Tuesday afternoon. While stepping out of the vehicle, he was seen tossing away a small bag. The police report states that the bag appeared to contain suspected meth. Clark is also charged with careless driving, and tampering with physical evidence.
The Pennyrile Area Development District has some good news for veterans. They are proud to announce that all nine Pennyrile Senior Centers are now Certified Veteran Friendly Senior Centers. Among other things, this certification reflects the centers’ dedication to supporting veterans and their families.
