Amanda “Mandi” Christine Mitchell Riley, 39, of Madisonville, KY went home to Heaven – where she can worship her God and where cancer can no longer hurt her, on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at home surrounded by her family and friends.
A 2003 graduate of Hopkins County Central High School, Mandi worked at several jobs in the service industry. Mandi was most at home in the company of her family, friends and pets. She loved all animals, playing board games and traveling. Mandi experienced life as a daughter, big sister, wife, stepmother and animal whisperer.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, William and Dora Mitchell, Jim and Mary Byrd; uncle, Jimmy Byrd; and aunt, Monica Mitchell.
She is survived by her father, Dale Mitchell of Madisonville; mother, Vicki Renn and bonus father, Bob Renn of Madisonville; sisters, Karah Renn, Sarah Renn and Heather Hibbs, all of Madisonville; husband, Christian Riley of Pawtucket, RI; bonus children, Kasi Riley of Taunton, MA, Alexia Duffy of Foxborough, MA and Logan Riley of Pawtucket; grandfather, Dean Renn of Indianapolis, IN; bonus grandparents, Bob and Anne Gibson; mother and father in law, Tom and Debbie Weiss of Norton, MA; along with several aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends.
A “champion for the underdog”, you could sum up Mandi’s life and what she believed in by First Corinthians 10:24… “Don’t worry about yourself, just take care of your brother”.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, November 22, 2024, in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with pastor Gary Taylor and Bob Gibson officiating. Burial to follow at Olive Branch Cemetery in Hanson, KY.
A visitation will be held on Thursday from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home and from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour on Friday at the funeral home.
The pallbearers are Josh Greene, Steve Paulson, Logan Riley, Brian Mitchell, Russ Vandiver and Matt Herring. The honorary pallbearers are Bob Gibson, Tommy Barnes and Ken Johnston.
In lieu of flowers, Mandi and the family have requested that you donate to your favorite animal rescue or animal shelter of your choice.
