Just as a crime can occur anytime, it can be solved anytime. An officer involved in a funeral procession on Saturday , spotted a woman with an active arrest warrant. After Katrina Davis was arrested on South Main, the officer spotted her adjusting her clothing. Davis’ purse had the strong odor of synthetic drugs, and evidence of synthetic residue. In the squad car, she was attempting to hide synthetic drugs.
One of the latest things in health treatment is patient-approved use of an A-I-powered software that allows the hospital to spend more time with their patients and less time on their computers. Owensboro Health says the Dragon Ambient Experience documents patient visits by recording conversations during in-person and telehealth visits. Channel 44 is reporting that it’s believed the software improves efficiency, enhances the patient experience and reduces physician burnout.
The governor is excited about the economic news coming out of Muhlenberg County. Greenville Manufacturing Kentucky is investing 16-million dollars in a new facility. Here is Mr. Beshear’s announcement.
In the Hopkins County Schools, the Christmas and New Year’s break is from Thursday the 19th through 1st. The Board of Education meets this evening at 5:30 at 3-20 South Seminary. To be recognized are the Hopkins Central State Wildlife, Land Judging, and Homesite teams. The fall sports athletes of the year for South Hopkins Middle will also be recognized.

Two local men are charged with receiving stolen property and drug crimes. It all began Thursday afternoon when an employee of River City Pawn on East Center Street overheard one of the men say, and I quote: we shouldn’t have robbed that house because the pawn shop isn’t going to buy the stuff”. End of quote. In no time, the police had begun their investigation of 48-year-old Steve Binnix of Hanson and 29-year-old Cory Navarra of Madisonville . K-9 Arkham sniffed out a glass pipe, suspected meth, a straw and spoon with residue, and some Walmart items valued at over 800-dollars that the store said had not been purchased. Binnix and Navarra were transported to the detention center.
One person is hurting after a 2-vehicle collision in Madisonville Friday evening involving local drivers. The police say at the intersection of Murray Street and Noel Avenue, 57-year-old Randle Johnson failed to yield the right of way to 44-year-old Michael Marks. Marks was transported to the E-R with apparent minor injuries.
Today is the day Madisonville’s Safe Haven Baby Box will be dedicated. The fire department says it will be located at 5-thousand Hanson Road. The baby box is intended provide a safe and anonymous way to surrender an infant. This is the 46th one in our state.
Hopkins County is making a new effort at addressing nuisance violations. County Attorney Lee Riddle addressed the fiscal court with the news.
