A man with multiple warrants is now in police custody. Samuel Holeman was picked up on Thursday afternoon when an officer spotted him walking in the middle of Dulin Street. As the officer was speaking to him, he tossed something into the grass. After he was handcuffed, the officer found a glass pipe used for smoking meth. Holeman was transported to the detention center.
Acting on a tip, the Providence Police Department is announcing an arrest. During the traffic stop of 36-year-old Cory Lussier (LEW-sur) of Sebree, it was found that he had a suspended license. Lussier also was in possession of a quantity of suspected Methamphetamine and suspected marijuana, along with drug paraphernalia, a loaded handgun, two sets of brass knuckles, and a quantity of U-S currency. Lussier’s Maserati was also seized. The Providence police say this is on-going investigation.
In Madisonville, road improvements are underway on I-69. The Transportation Cabinet says lane restrictions and lane shifts are in place for both north and sound bound vehicles from just south of Island Ford Road at mile marker 116 to the Fowler Road overpass at mile marker 118.
Madisonville’s city administrator says street quality is at the top of his list. Rob Saint says it all depends on how much money can be devoted to street upkeep.

It’s nice when a cop is at the scene of a crime as it’s happening. The officer at the Ideal Station on East Center Street noticed a customer who was not acting normally. Cory Navarra was picking up items and placing them back, and sweating a lot. He was clenching his fist and had exaggerated arm swings. After Navaarra was unable to do sobriety tests, the officer arrested him for D-U-I. In his truck, the officer located a straw with residue on it, digital scales, and a glass meth pipe.
Law enforcement is aware of a phone scam involving the residents of Mortons Gap. The caller knows the name of his victim and asks them to join a class action lawsuit. The issue may regard utilities and other city issues. If you receive a call of this nature, officials say you should hang up and contact city hall.
The state senator representing Hopkins County is in full agreement with the president for desiring to protect the integrity of women’s sports by forbidding birth males from the competition. In Frankfort, Robby Mills says women should not be forced to accept competition that ignores biological realities. He says this conflict has threatened the foundation of women’s athletics.
The governor says the prices we have to pay affect both sides of the aisle. Andy Beshear says that’s why he signed House Bill 1 because it will reduce the state income tax and will provide families with tax breaks.
