He says a record number of lawmakers want to cosponsor the National Right to Work Act.
The Madisonville police say a woman is in critical condition after being stabbed. The incident occurred Saturday morning at 6 in the 400 block of Sugg Street. Two Madisonville residents are being charged with assault. They are 36-year-old Marvin Rice and 32 year old Ashley Carter. The victim’s name has not been released.
A Hopkins County road will be closed for several hours today and tomorrow. The work on Lamb Road begins at 9 o’clock. The Hopkins County Road Department says road closures and road repair announcements will now be announced on the Rave Alert System. Efforts are underway to attract more industry to Hopkins County. One group being approached is the Delta Regional Authority. Kelly Forbes of the E-D-C says the D-R-A has a lot of funding for projects. Forbes says they should know more about that funding by late spring.

The strong odor of gas is what caused the fire department to race to the Cross Creek Apartments on Island Ford Road. After not finding a fire, they concluded everyone was smelling was a skunk.
