With Madisonville and Hopkins County bringing in new sets of eyeballs for events and happenings, we’re seeing more money being filtered into our local economies. On this week’s program, we focus on tourism! MadCon 2025 is coming to the Parkway Plaza Mall on Saturday, March 15. It will bring families locally and abroad together to enjoy this one day spectacle. While we’re talking about tourism, we felt it was a good idea to bring in the director of tourism for Hopkins County to discuss events and things going on to further create growth and what’s attributed to an increase of people coming to Madisonville.
Our guests this week include:
- Leesa Boone, Host of Shop Local on NASH 104.9, who is helping to coordinate and plan for MadCon 2025 with WTTL.
- Tricia Noel, Executive Director, Hopkins County Tourist and Convention Commission, who discusses events and happenings and what tourism is doing to support our local community with event funding
- Sarah Beth Brewer, country musician, released her new single titled, “Love Is Blind,” and came into studio to talk about its meaning and inspiration.
Listen to this week’s program in its entirety below! Coalfield Comments airs live on Monday mornings from 8-9 a.m. on 103.5 The Light FM/1310 AM.
