Officials say across the state there are concerns about tornadoes, hail, flooding and strong winds. Officials suggest having a plan that includes a safe place.
The M-P-D is releasing additional details about the arrest of Jonathan Ruby. Last week, Ruby ran from a sheriff’s deputy into the woods near Mortons Gap from the scene of a crash near the White City Wildlife Management Area. On Monday evening, the police did a traffic stop on South Main because it appeared that Ruby was a passenger. When asked to identify himself, he responded with the name: Stephen Ruby. That didn’t work. Officers discovered he had marijuana, meth, and synthetic marijuana in his possession.
Madisonville Community College (MCC) is now the only college in the state offering an opportunity to learn about the high-demand field of healthcare technology management. The school says there’s a growing need for people to fill these important roles. The degree certifies that its holder is capable of repairing, maintaining, and servicing life-saving medical equipment. A presentation and hands-on workshop will take place this evening at 6 at the main campus. This event is free and open to the public.
In Earlington, the city is doing maintenance and cleaning operations of the water tank. They say this may result in low water pressure throughout the city.

This is for Muhlenberg residents. Muhlenberg 9-1-1 needs to know if you have a storm shelter. They would like to know the location of all the shelters so they can be of assistance if their help is needed. They would appreciate it if you would phone the non-emergency office number to register.

They will provide you with details about the Medicare Savings Program that helps pay your Part B premium and other costs. They will also have details about the Low Income Subsidy, that lowers or eliminates your Medicare drug coverage costs. Most everyone is waiting for the new Madisonville Town Center to open near Island Ford Road. City Councilman Adam Townsell is one of the many who are also waiting for the new connector road that will help reduce some Main Street traffic and traffic related to the town center. (Clip in audio below)
