The National Weather Service is reporting that that last week’s weather produced near-record river flooding. On the Green River, the record will be threatened at Paradise, where you have go go back more than 60 years to find a similar crest. Forecasted crests Evansville and Newburgh can only be surpassed by the flood of 1937.
The state capital is one of a number of communities grappling with a deluge of flash flooding. It ended in Dawson Springs, where the police had positioned spike strips on the road. A search of the Chevrolet Impala produced a T-H-C vape pen. Harvey’s charges include wanton endangerment and speeding.

The National Weather Service says the Hopkins County Animal Shelter was the victim of a tornado. They say it hit last Wednesday evening. Fortunately, no animals were harmed. It traveled northeast causing sporadic tree damage, as well as harm to the roof and gutters of a home as it crossed Interstate 69 and paralleled Highway 281. The National Weather Service has counted up to 15 tornadoes from the April 2nd event, with many tracks yet to be surveyed.
