Sherman “Carroll” LeGrand, 68, of Madisonville, KY passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2024, at Madisonville Health and Rehabilitation.
He was born on December 2, 1955, in Owensboro, KY, to the late Ella Merle Davis LeGrand and Henry Sherman LeGrand. He retired from the Kentucky Department of Transportation as an equipment operator. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and watching cowboy movies. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. Carroll was a member of Life Apostolic Church in Madisonville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of thirty-two years, Judith “Judy” Fenwick LeGrand; and his brother, Larry Ray LeGrand.
Survivors include his sons, Steven (Cynthia) Lester Salmons of Ohio, Billy Joe Salmons and Jerry Lee (Frances) Salmons, both of Madisonville, and Gary Wayne (Tracey) Salmons of Slaughters, KY; brother, Richard (Karen) Wayne LeGrand of Earlington, KY; sister, Debbie (Jay) Marie Mather of Alabama; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and four nieces.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Life Apostolic Church with Pastor Dustin Lee officiating. Burial to follow at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Harris Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour on Saturday at the church.
Pallbearers are Gary Salmons, Jerry Salmons, Billy Joe Salmons, Josh Salmons, Levi Salmons, and Robert Corbitt. Honorary pallbearers are Rick LeGrand and Steve Salmons.
