Today (1101) is a special day in Madisonville. Mayor Kevin Cotton says this is Extra Mile Day.
The Hopkins County Clerk’s Office wants all registered voters to know that early voting is for ALL registered voters. They say early voting often has reduced wait times. It offers flexibility in voting locations, and increased convenience. You can vote early at the Ballard Convention Center today through Saturday from 8 until 4.
The Madisonville Police are being credited with arresting a Morganfield man who was wanted in Evansville. They say 41-year-old Grover McGuire nearly maxed out a line of credit at an Evansville bank and after a while, stopped making payments to the bank. The bank says McGuire owes more than 7-thousand dollars. A warrant for McGuire’s arrest was issued six months ago.
In Madisonville, there’s now a comfortable place for parents with a newborn in the neonatal intensive care unit to rest and recover. Baptist Health Deaconess says they look and feel like apartments, not hospital rooms. The new Parent Care Rooms have been made possible through the combined efforts of McEnaney (MAC-ah-NAY-nee) Family McDonald’s, Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Ohio Valley, and the Baptist Health Deaconess Foundation.

The meeting schedule for the Madisonville City Council is being changed. There will be no meeting on Monday the 4tth. The next meeting will be on Monday, the 18th, at 4:30 at City Hall.
This is day-2 of early voting. In Webster County, it’s taking place at the senior center in Dixon through tomorrow. In Hopkins County, all of the early voting is taking place at the Ballard Convention Center. The hours for both locations is 8 to 4. Election Day will be Tuesday, the 5th, from 6 until 6.
The driver of the Silverado who made an abrupt lane change on I-69, and who had been following a semi too closely, is being charged with possession of meth and drug paraphernalia. The Wednesday afternoon traffic stop of 23-year-old Julian Oglesby of Madisonville was done in Anton and involved the K-9 Arkham. Oglesby advised the officer that he had two arrest warrants.
The property tax season is here for Muhlenberg County. The Sheriff’s Department says the property tax bills will have a slightly different look. The bill can be paid online at muhlenberg county sheriff k-y dot com. They can also be paid in person in the sheriff’s office, or placed in the Dropbox at the back of the courthouse. There’s a small fee to pay online, or when using a check or credit card.
Kentucky Congressman James Comer has an interest in the Democrat running for Vice-President. On Fox Business, Mr. Comer talked about Governor Walz’s relationship with China.
