Brenda F. Faughn, 73, of Madisonville, KY left her home here on earth to enter her eternal home in heaven on Wednesday, January 16, 2025, at Heartford House Hospice in Owensboro, KY.
She was born on June 17, 1951, in Madisonville, KY, to the late William T. Gibson and Hallie A. Hawkins Gibson. Brenda was the youngest of nine. Brenda was a very devoted homemaker who focused her life on taking care of her family. Those who knew her describe her as the strongest, sweetest and kindest lady you will ever know. She previously worked as a PRN Hopkins Co. School System lunchroom lady and several years as the Meals on Wheels & Kitchen Manger at the Hopkins Co. Senior Citizen Center.
Brenda was a woman of Baptist faith and born-again Christian. She loved attending church as health permitted. She especially enjoyed traveling to wherever her traveling preacher son-in-love the Rev. Dan Carr would be preaching. If church attendance was not possible, she depended on a weekly sermon from her favorite TV pastor Dr. Charles Stanley.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Beatrice Cunningham, Betty James, and Ruth Ezell; and her brothers, John W. Gibson, Kenneth Gibson, Bobby Gibson, James Gibson, and Billy Gibson.
She is survived by her husband of fifty-six years and attentive caregiver, Henry B. Faughn; her only child and cherished redheaded daughter Tammy Lyn Faughn Carr and son-in-love John Daniel “Dan” Carr; her beloved spoiled rotten ginger cat, Daisy Faughn; and her grand-cat, Skit Carr. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Elaine Gibson and Becky Gibson, as well as many nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, January 20, 2025, at Harris Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Olive Branch Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 11 am until the service time Monday at the funeral home.
