People are still talking about the amazing volleyball tournament that was held at the Kentucky Sports Factory this past weekend. It was the first major event at the new venue. One of those who attended was City Council member Adam Townsend. (Sound clip is in audio below.)
The M-P-D is reporting the forgery of an auto title. The matter came to the attention of thepolice during a traffic stop. They noticed that the car’s title had been signed on February 1st by the owner who had passed away five days earlier. Jimmy Shadrick is charged with forgery and with illegally taking possession of the Saturn Ion.
Dollar General is making a change at their Nortonville store. Customers can now purchase fruits and vegetables at 2018 North Hopkinsville Street. Dollar General admits that it’s not trying to be a grocery store, but they believe this change will be well received.
In Madisonville, Baptist Health Deaconess has a new donor wall. It features the individuals, organizations, and businesses who gave 10-thousand dollars or more. The new wall is located in the hospital lobby.
The Pennyrile Area Development District is having a Pet Food Drive. They say our homebound seniors and their furry companions need our help. You can drop off the food at PADD in Hoptown, at 300 Hammond Drive.
Everyone is invited to the annual meeting of the Shady Grove Cemetery Association. It will be on Saturday, the 8th, at 10 at the fire department.

The traffic stop of a careless driver on Saturday morning is what led to three charges and an arrest. The police report says Deborah Tapp swerved across the center line of McLeod Lane several times. After being tested, the officer concluded that Tapp was impaired, due to drug use, and unsafe to drive.
The Madisonville Fire Department says a gas leak on East Center Street is repaired. They contacted Atmos Energy after being notified last Wednesday (the 29th) of the leak at the Hopkins County Property Valuation Administration. The M-F-D reported that the gas was shut off until Atmos personnel could evaluate the conditions.
In Frankfort, the 2nd half of the legislative session is underway. The Democrats call their agenda: Kentucky Forward, A Vision For Our Families. Pam Stevenson of Louisville hopes the bills will get a public hearing. (Clip is in audio below.)
Kentucky Congressman James Comer is supporting the president’s effort to have fair trade agreements, especially with our neighbor countries. He spoke on NewsMax. (Audio is below.)
