The MPD is reporting an arrest during the midnight hour on Saturday. 22-year-old Kevin Mitchell of Madisonville is charged with rape and assault. A domestic violence call was received by the police. They say the victim was Mitchell’s girlfriend. She received minor injuries. He was transported to the detention center.
A Henderson man is in the Webster County Jail on 7 charges. Deputies became aware of Jonathan Rooney while investigating a non-injury collision near Sebree on Sunday. He was found to have an active arrest warrant out of Henderson County. As he was about to be arrested. Rooney started running, but was caught using a tazer. Rooney’s charges include Reckless driving and fleeing from the police.

A traffic stop around 3 AM on Sunday is what sent three Madisonville residents to jail. The officer noticed that 44-year-old Amy Rice of Madisonville kept crossing the center line on Grapevine Road. The K-9 Loki discovered illegal narcotics inside the 300-series Chrysler. Rice faces 6 charges, including trafficking in synthetic drugs, and failing to produce an insurance card. Arrested on the same charges were her passengers: 49-year-old Crystol Cumens and 47-year-old Cory Mason.
The Madisonville police are announcing the arrest of man on child exploitation charges. The investigation began last week. 23-year-old Mason Mayes of Princeton admitted to sending a minor under the age of 12 sexually explicit photos and planned to meet the child on a future date. Detectives observed sexual conversations between the two. Assisted by the state police, Mayes was located in Benton. He is now lodged in the county jail.
