The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office is reporting the arrest of a shooting suspect after a nearly week-long search. Calvin Long Junior has been arrested without incident and lodged in the county jail for shooting a Nortonville man in the hip.
The Madisonville resident who let her 7 to 10 dogs out of the house only to have one of them bite a neighbor is facing charges. Juanita Lanham has been arrested on Corbley Avenue and charged with harboring a vicious animal and wanton endangerment. The officers determined that she was manifestly under the influence of alcohol.
A weaving Chevrolet Colorado on East Center Street on Sunday afternoon is what led to the arrest of the driver. The police report indicates that Lopez Pascual could not produce a valid driver’s license or an insurance policy. The traffic stop was done on Brown Road.

The Madisonville police have the details about the arrest of a woman on an electric bicycle Tuesday afternoon. Rachael Goffinet (GOFF-uh-net) was stopped because an officer saw her run through a stop sign on East Broadway. Since she was speaking quickly and making jerky movements, a K-9 was called to the scene. Goffinet was in possession of a straw with a white powderly substance on it, and a meth pipe. She is facing four charges including being under the influence of intoxicants and possession of drug paraphernalia.

State agencies contintually point out that they do not use texts to inform the public about financial information. When there is a questionable text or email, they suggest that you phone the agency or the police to confirm its legitimacy.
In Dixon, disconnections for Waterworks customers are scheduled for Monday, March 3rd. Customers are encouraged to make sure their account is current. New water bills are being mailed out today. (Thursday, Feb. 27) They are due March 15th. The office will be closed on the 14th. Customers who believe their bill is not being received in a timely manner should phone the office to get the balance.
