When a police officer can tell that seatbelts are not being used, he is instructed to do a traffic stop. That’s what transpired on Tuesday morning on I-69. It was found that Jeanette Davis’ registration had expired. A strong marijuana odor in her Ford F-150 was also detected. A baggie of meth, a glass smoking device, and a marijuana roach were found. Also arrested with Davis was a passenger. Joshua Beals faces the same drug charges.
Yes, the Kentucky Sports Factory is open. It’s already hosted a few events, but Mayor Kevin Cotton says that’s not the purpose of tomorrow’s grand opening. Sometimes, additional charges are made once a suspect arrives at the Hopkins County Jail. Such was the case with Aaron Spencer. On Monday, he was arrested for being in possession of controlled substances and drug paraphernalia. At the jail, Spencer announced that in his personal belongings, there was some Suboxone and a used syringe.
The Green River Area Development District has some good news. GRADD has upgraded its shelf-stable emergency meal program. The hot meal provider is now also supplying higher-quality meals to seniors during inclement weather, and meal program closures. Five Star says each pack contains 5 delicious, name-brand meals.

In Muhlenberg County, the school district is about to publicize their vision for education. The Muhlenberg County Schools Blueprint for Success is the work of school representatives, community members, and a board member. The group was led by Katie Martin with the Learner-Centered Collaborative. The initiative will help guide the district over the next few years. More details will soon be publicized.
The state is about to begin work on two Western Kentucky Parkway bridges on the Green River between Muhlenberg and Ohio Counties. The project is scheduled to be finished by the end of August.
