The M-P-D has the details about a disturbance at the Baptist Health emergency room at 3:30 Monday morning. Daniel Riley had been discharged but refused to leave. When officers arrived, they could hear Riley cursing loudly. Riley claimed he could not walk. The medical staff disagreed. Once he was arrested, Riley stood up and walked out.

The first statewide employer to join the Kentucky Community and Technical College System’s program will join a network of more than 60 companies across the state that are committed to an earn and learn model to provide good jobs, upward mobility, flexible scheduling, and education benefits while students pursue their education. Goodwill Industries of Kentucky is now an Education First Employer.
The Madisonville Hopkins County Economic Development Corporation is hoping for a successful job expo. Registration is underway for the event that will be on Tuesday, April 22nd at the Ballard Convention Center from 9:30 until 2:30.
The driver of a car that ran through a stop sign Sunday afternoon in Madisonville is facing six charges. The police say Judy Martin was almost invoved in a head on collision. She was stopped by officers who said she was doing 72 miles an hour on McCoy Avenue. That’s more than twice the speed limit. Martin said she had taken a Lortab. She also had no auto insurance.
A Greenville family is displaced due to a home fire on Monday morning. One of their cats died in the residence in the 400 block of Richardson Drive in the Foxboro subdivision. The other cat was resuscitated.

The Western Kentucky Chapter of the American Red Cross has a new Executive Director. Jennifer Barnett will be responsible for community outreach in a 25-county area. The Red Cross is a not-for-profit organization that depends on volunteers and the generosity of the public to perform its mission.
The Webster County School District has some good news. For summer reading, Providence Elementary will be the recipient of 200 book-sharing boxes from the Little Free Library. Each library also includes a donation of 200 books from Penguin Random House.
